At Mustache Power, we are strong believers in the value of video. Recently, we had the opportunity to record for theUtah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. The decision to have their Safety and Sanitation Symposium recorded was extra valuable. We had no idea there were so many safety concerns with Cosmetologists, Barbers, Estheticians and Nail Technicians. To make matters worse, we found out that the State of Utah only has regulations for these occupations in Salt Lake County!
Education about safety and sanitation practices is essential, and the DOPL clearly needs to communicate to a very broad audience about this important information. Cosmetology students, teachers and clients can drastically reduce the risks of unintentionally spreading illness and diseases to others simply by putting these regulations into practice. If more people are informed and aware of these issues, better decisions can be made for the future.
